Covid-19 Shutdown

As with all other schools in the province, classes at MCS are currently suspended indefinitely. Staff are prepared to continue to provide distant learning to all students, including support to parents and students as they navigate their academics from a distance.

  • Teachers will provide final grades and report cards for students, and make final assessment in June as to whether students will need to do recovery work during the next school year
  • (K-8) Teachers will provide final grades and report cards for students, and make final assessment in June as to whether students will need to do recovery work during the next school year
  • (Gr. 9-12) Teachers will use the mark a student had as of Mar. 20th as a baseline, with opportunities given to raise the mark doing work from home.
  • Gr. 9-11 students will be assessed in June to see if they have completed enough work to earn their credits or if recovery work will need to be completed next school year.
  • Gr. 12 students on track to graduate will be able to graduate if they have completed the coursework necessary to gain the required credits. The government is still working on these details and will communicate with schools as they become available.
